When it was confirmed that Richie wouldn't come to Europe I literally saw the band falling apart right in front of me for a second and I was so scared, because I can't and I don't want to lose them. So I was scared to see them without Richie for the first time, but the show in Munich proved that I haven't lost them, and that I never will. It was different without Richie, and he was missed badly by us and the band as well - but it was still amazing. More than that. They showed me again that there will always be only one band for me. They are my guys, and I can't tell you how thankful I am for everything. Richie has to come back and I'll keep saying that, but tonight was such a relief because it was still so them. <3 data-blogger-escaped-br="">
We got up at 5 in the morning and I felt surprisingly well, once again. I think I'm getting used to these messed up schedules faster these days. We walked to the venue at 6 ad got there at 6:20. It had gotten quite bust over night but we still had number 67/68 GC.
We spent the morning laying in the sun in the park, while we finished our banner and listened to BJ. We were told to come back for the first roll call at 10, but that became 11, maybe later and then we were told to wait around because the truck with the tickets and wristbands hadn't arrived yet. They expected it to take another 30 minutes. We eventually had to wait 3,5 hours and got our tickets at 14:00. After that I could finally go buy some food and I was just eating my pizza in the sun when the band did a quick soundcheck. I'm not gonna lie - I fangirled a little when I heard Jon's voice again after two years. (Warning: more JBJ fangirl talk is coming later in this post.)
Then finally, at around 16:00, they moved us to a place inside the stadium where we did a last line-up and then we could go in. At that point I was rather nervous and the sight of the massive and beautiful stage as we walked down the stairs didn't really help. But a couple of minutes later we reached the GC and we got a really good spot at the front row, with a perfect view of the stage and the guys.
We sat down and remained seated all the way through the first support act: some crappy band from a local radio station. They got the whole stadium to sing along to Scandal Um Rosie. It was that kind of band. Then the second support act was the Austrian singer Christina Sturmer - never heard of her but she seemed quite popular. I didn't like her that much though. Luckily, by the time she was finished we only had to wait 25 more minutes until showtime. Omygod, indeed.
Eventually the intro started at around 20:00. I hadn't seen it before but it was amazing. Then the band walked on stage, followed by Jon and after seconds I knew it was okay - after the first song (That's what the water made me - SO much love for that song) I knew it was different but more than okay! I still had that feeling and that felt so so good.
The show went on and it was obvious that Jon was having a really good time, as well as the rest of the band, and Phil was so cute. All smiles but still he stayed in the background - in fact he's doing a perfect job. And he's obviously having the time of his life. At first I didn't think the set would be very special but I was so wrong. I think I realised that when Jon did his Jagger impression. (I still can't handle that) and he was in one of thóse moods. The looks, the moves, the things he says when he's in one of those moods... Oh well I don't think I need to explain what I am talking about. They also did Rocking All Over The World during the Sleep jukebox btw,I haven't heard that for three years - SO COOL <3 data-blogger-escaped-br="">
Jon didn't go out on the circle at first, and I didn't think he planned to do it at all either, probably to protect his voice from whatever - as he was wearing a scarf as well, but then during the second encore David did the first part of In These Arms and Jon went out on the circle anyway. To play the rest of that song and Saturday Night. Back on the main stage they went straight on to Always and after that These Days. I couldn't believe it. At that point they had been on stage for three hours. I expected These Days to be the last song but thén Jon did the whole falling to his knees and begging the band for one more song thing and they finished with I love This Town. Three hours and fifteen minutes. No words, seriously. And what a way to start our tour.
The crowd was so amazing as well, they really showed the band why they love Munich so much and Jon kept thanking everyone and saying that they would be back. And they better be, because we wanna go again!!!
The walk back to the hotel went smoothly (Nikita told me to describe it as flexible) and after picking up some drinks and food at the gas station we could finally go to our room - where we watched the last part of the Eurovision song contest and then we well asleep - finally.
I am sure that at this point I forgot half of what happened but I'll do another update when I get home. We are now at the Pizza Hut and still have another five hours to kill before our train to Amsterdam takes off. I really don't wanna go home though. :-( I missed touring so much and the guys, and the people, and the queueing and the guys again.
Anyway I haven't been very good company for Nikita in the last thirty minutes so I'm gonna make up for that now by telling some hilarious jokes or something, or maybe not.
Okay byee - will do another update when I get home.
xxxxx
